National Call Joe Lieberman Day

From the diaries. I changed the date and time, hopefully other blogs will join in--Chris

I briefly discussed this idea in a few replies to  Chris Bowers' post last night and I promised to provide more detail today and a reminder for people who want to participate.  So here we go.

As Chris noted, Lieberman is looking increasingly shaky on his opposition to defunding Social Security.  There are shakier dems, to be sure (Ben Nelson comes to mind), but no shakier dems with as high a profile as Joe.  With this in mind, I think we should concentrate our fire on Shaky Joe this week and I have suggested that everyone make Wednesday our "blogosphere day of action."  Call Joe Lieberman's office, starting at 10:00 am and let his staffers know how you feel about the rhetorical support he's been giving the notion of defunding social security.

Re: Tuesday (none / 0)

OK...can you mention this on the frontpage?  You don't need to mention this diary...I don't care...but getting a sizable number of people would be good.

Is Joel the next Zell? (none / 0)

Joel Lieberman has never really impressed me.  He always seems to concerned with his place in Washington, not with the DNC.  The fact that he was a VP hopeful in a stolen election does not give him unfettered support, I thought he was a reprehensible choice and actually hurt Gore.  Bridge building to the right of the aisle is not going to help the Democratic Party right now.  So, all I can say is; "Joel... go to Zell!"  Get with the program or just sign up to speak at the next GOP convention; keep it up and I'm sure they'd be glad to see you!

Let create a color code alert to go after cowards. (none / 0)

If any Dem seems to waiver from the party line let the blogs post thier contact info and we can react like Minute men. The Democrats unfortunately don't fear the "Whip" so lets give em a blogosphere STUN GUN. A political shock and awe if you will.
